Accessibility Statement
Last updated: September 27, 2026
TZ Develop Team, Israel, operates the We family app (Android, iOS and its web version) and the wefamilyapp.com website. We want every family member — including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, a switch device, magnification or reduced motion — to be able to use We, and we work toward the WCAG 2.1 level AA guidelines, which are the basis of the Israeli standard IS 5568 and of the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013.
1. What is in place
- Every control has a text label for assistive technology, including icon-only buttons, and every image has alternative text or is marked decorative.
- The app can be operated with a keyboard: chips, cards, links and custom controls are focusable and respond to Enter and Space, and a visible focus ring shows where you are. In the story viewer, the arrow keys move between stories and Escape closes it.
- Form fields carry visible labels, and error messages are announced when they appear.
- Text and interface colours meet the AA contrast ratio (4.5:1 for text, 3:1 for graphics) in light mode, and the app follows your device's light or dark setting.
- Most of the interface follows your device's font-size setting, and the web version can be zoomed with the browser.
- The app is available in eight languages, including full right-to-left layouts for Hebrew and Arabic.
- Voice messages are transcribed automatically, so their content is available as text.
2. Known limitations
- The family tree is a drawn diagram that is navigated by touch or mouse. It is not yet operable from a keyboard or a screen reader; the same family members and relationships are available as a plain list in the "Groups" view of the family tab and in each person's profile.
- Stories are designed around touch gestures (hold to pause, swipe to move). Keyboard users get next / previous / close, and screen-reader users hear each story's author and caption, but the timing bar itself is visual only.
- Family games (chess, backgammon and the daily challenge) announce the board state but are best played by touch; the maze and the reflex challenges are played by dragging or with on-screen arrows, which also work from a keyboard or a screen reader, one step per press; the reflex challenges answer to the keyboard's arrow keys too.
- Photos and videos shared by family members carry only the description their author gave them.
- Page titles are read by screen readers, but the headings inside a page do not yet form a full outline.
- In dark mode, text drawn in the brand green on the dark background reaches about 3.5:1 rather than 4.5:1; the dark palette is being reworked.
We are working through these items in the order above.
3. Accessibility of the website and documents
The wefamilyapp.com landing page, this statement, the Privacy Policy and the Terms & Conditions are plain HTML pages: they have a single heading structure, real links, alternative text, AA contrast and no scripts, and they follow your browser's zoom, font and colour-scheme settings.
4. Tell us
If something in We is hard or impossible for you to use, or if you need any of this information in another format, write to the accessibility coordinator at info@wefamilyapp.com. Describe the screen and what happened, and which device and assistive technology you use. We answer within 14 days and fix what we can in the next release.
